Punch Newspaper's recently publish on Crime Digest that the Assistant Inspector General of Police (AIG) in charge of Zone 2 has ordered the arrest of teenage singer David 'Davido' Adeleke.

This arrest was in connection with an alleged assault on a taxi cab driver, Femi Ajibola by Davido at a Lagos Hotel. Ajibola accused the 'omo baba olowo' singer of confiscating his car. He also alleged that his 100,000 Naira was lost in the car.

Reacting to the story, Davido denied being wanted by the police. When asked by a fan if it was true the police are looking for him, he replied, "No, I'm not, lies. The only thing wey dey find me nah money. I'm about to sue these niggas (media)!! Lool. Stop putting lies in the papers. Una neva tire?"

Davido later released a statement via his twitter handle iam_davido. An unedited statement is reproduced below.

"I want to assure all my beloved fans and friends that, I am not wanted by the police and no officer in the Nigerian police gave an order for my arrest.

"I went to the police some weeks ago to give a statement and cleared my name. I did not beat up any taxi driver and the lady that hired the taxi driver and all those that are involved in this matter have made statements to the police and none of them mentioned my name except the taxi driver who claims that a large sum of money was missing in his taxi, in fact the lady in question stated that she was not beaten by anyone and that nobody assaulted the taxi driver.

"This is a case of blackmail, and I have resolved not to succumb to any blackmail for money. And to all those that are involved in this conspiracy to bring me down, I want to remind you that God Almighty himself got me to where I am today in my music career and you will not succeed in your devilish efforts to bring me down.

I dont have any child as charly boy. Says...Justice Oputa

"Charly Boy is not my Son. I think Charlyboy is a character. I don’t have any child as Charlyboy, I have Charles Oputa. I don’t allow Charlyboy into my house, but I have a caring son called Charles," he said.

Justice Oputa who also spoke kindly of his son said he respects his son's will so much and can not but support him even right from the day he decided to be a revolutionist.

Hear him, "he has his own will, he has been doing what he likes, he has been happy with what he is doing and that is the aim of life. If you are satisfied, contented with the day to day existence, then you are considered a happy man. You may be very rich and happy but not satisfied, but if you are in an atmosphere you like and you have a wife who agrees with you like Charles, then you are lucky. My son is very understanding, loving and shows so much concern and respect for me and her mother. That’s all we need from him at this age.

He has lofty visions seemingly impossible to actualize. He pursues those visions with a single-minded doggedness, exhibiting an amazing capacity to build a team and drive them relentlessly toward the realization of his dreams. His advice to the youths to never let anybody kill their dreams is his personal mantra which rules him. I salute that."
